Deniece Christ-Rice is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Houston, Texas.

With over 12 years experience as a social worker and psychotherapist, and as a graduate of The Graduate College of Social Work at The University of Houston, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Her areas of expertise include:  anxiety disorders, trauma therapy, couples therapy, and helping clients improve their overall sense of self-worth & self-esteem.  In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Deniece Christ-Rice has conducted several couples workshops based on the Family Wellness Curriculum.  She is a certified Family Wellness Instructor who also regularly teaches a couples communication class at The Co-Cathedral in downtown Houston.  

Denise will be joined by family attorney, Sam M. (Trey) Yates, III, a Family Law Trial Attorney in Houston whose practice is dedicated exclusively to assisting families in times of transition, whether it is by divorce, the seeking of custody of a child or the death of a loved one. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  (Update:  Koby Wilbanks (photo above) will be stepping in for Trey Yates.)

Our third presenter has over 20 years of experience in the field of finance, Patricia Barrett is well trained in the intricacies of personal financial and divorce planning. She is a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. In addition, she is a credentialed Mediator, having completed mediation training at the University of Houston School of Law. She has assisted hundreds of individuals and couples work through the difficult issues involved in the divorce process. Patricia condenses the information to primary issues, concentrating on the areas that matter most and illustrating the benefits and costs of choices. She has the expertise needed to bring about a peaceful divorce settlement when possible, or guide clients skillfully when it isn’t.
